English Talk Shop founder Nancy Hiser made a presentation to the Tri-TESOL conference on the topic of Prescribing the Pronunciation Path: A client-centered approach for ESL professionals from a speech pathologist.

Pronunciation training often involves prioritizing what we as instructors feel is most critical or what we feel most comfortable teaching: intonation, stress, consonant and vowel sounds, conversational speech. This presentation examines many of the primary challenges facing ESL instructors when working with non-native speakers of English.
